About the Role:
Penn Commercial Business/Technical School in Washington, PA is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Instructor with a mechanical focus to inspire the next generation of technical professionals. Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging instruction in Computer Aided Drafting with a focus on mechanical drafting principles and applications
  • Teach industry-standard CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar platforms) to students at varying skill levels
  • Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and course materials aligned with industry standards
  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and assessments
  • Provide hands-on guidance in technical drawing, geometric dimensioning and mechanical design concepts
  • Mentor and advise students on career pathways in drafting, design, and engineering technology
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom and lab environment
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor and Revit or equivalent mechanical/Architectural drafting tools
  • Professional experience in mechanical drafting, design, or engineering technology
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Teaching or training experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a student-centered approach
