Trust Support Associate

How does the role impact the organization?

Reporting directly to the AVP, Operations, the selected candidate will: play a key role supporting Solus Trust with its various service requirements; work in a dynamic environment within a growing team and business; bring a positive mindset and willingness to help others achieve the overall goals of our growing businesses.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Provide administrative support to the Solus Trust team of professionals that deliver best in class service and support to their clients, internal partners and external stakeholders;
  • Assist Trust Officers and their teams with Estate and Trust account administration work as it relates to tasks associated to settling estates and/or ongoing Trust account administration, including bill payments, trust accounting, and statement production;
  • Liaise with banking partners to manage account openings and closings, special requests, and investigate transactions when necessary;
  • Support the maintenance and updating of client banking records and other reporting related to service delivery, including transaction importing and bank reconciliation;
  • Work collaboratively with Solus Trust associates to ensure bank accounts meet all compliance requirements and that related controls remain in place;
  • Build and maintain knowledge of the integrated wealth management offering with a focus on the Estate and Trust products, services and procedures; 
  • Support timely execution of risk and compliance processes to ensure safeguarding of assets, compliance with privacy laws and adherence to policies to act in the best interest of all clients.

What do we expect from you?

  • Knowledge of trust products, services, and procedures;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as interpersonal skills;
  • High degree of comfort working with different technology platforms;
  • Creative mindset around use of technology as it relates to building templates, spreadsheets and tools to support the service delivery of our business;
  • Commitment to maintaining excellence in service standards to foster credibility and trust with partners and clients, and to build and deepen relationships;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and organize time effectively to support clients, teams, and business partners;
  • Quick learning ability and adaptability to change within the operational framework;
  • Post-secondary education in a related field of study;
  • 2-3 years of relevant industry experience, with proven knowledge/experience working with or for a Trust Company, Accounting or Financial Services provider, or Investment Dealer;
  • Membership or commitment to participate in CSI and/or STEP preferred
  • Proficiency in English and French is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Desire to invest into the Trust industry by way of continuing education courses and learning programs.

Salary Range: $55,000 - 63,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.

Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and other job requirements.
