Client Support Associate / IT Support Specialist

Duration: 3 Months Contract (Possible Extension / Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Plainfield, IL 60544 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Two days per week: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, employee-selected except Mondays)
Pay Rate: $28.00/hour on W2

Job Summary

We are seeking a Client Support Associate / IT Support Specialist to provide onsite technical support for internal employees in a fast-paced office environment. This individual will serve as the primary onsite IT contact, delivering exceptional customer service while troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and printer issues. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger IT support team.

This role offers the opportunity to convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-level technical support to internal employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral device issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software, operating systems, print drivers, and workstation applications.
  • Prepare, image, deploy, and replace laptops and other end-user devices.
  • Support new hire onboarding by configuring equipment and user workstations.
  • Perform hardware replacements, software updates, and routine system maintenance.
  • Respond to and resolve IT support requests through an internal ticketing system and chat support.
  • Provide remote support via chat while also assisting employees in person.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate support teams when necessary.
  • Monitor IT systems, identify recurring issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and updates within the ticketing system.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while serving as the primary onsite IT support contact.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of IT Support, Help Desk, or Desktop Support experience.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting:
    • Windows operating systems
    • Desktop and laptop hardware
    • Printers and peripheral devices
    • Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and network troubleshooting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide both remote and onsite technical support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting VPN connectivity.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Experience imaging, configuring, and deploying laptops.
  • Familiarity with hardware upgrades and workstation setup.
