Do you have the PRN career opportunities as a(an) Imaging Tech Assistant PRN you want with your current employer? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Wesley Medical Center which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: Provides patient transportation for all sections of Imaging Services and Cardiovascular Services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
  • Moves and lifts patients, managing any portable equipment that must be transported with the patient.
  • Transports patients to and from various areas of the hospital to Imaging
  • Assists patients with dressing
  • Checks patients in an out of radiology
  • Ensures supplies and equipment are stocked and in good working order
  • Provides assistance to technologists before, during and after exams
  • Communicates among all imaging services to ensure efficient work flow
  • Completes level II MRI Safety training and/or radiation protection annual competencies to ensure a safe working environment
  • Answers telephone efficiently and courteously, relaying messages and calls to appropriate personnel and other departments as needed
  • Coordinates activities of nursing unit within Imaging
  • Works with management to ensure staffing is adequate for patient volume and all shifts and call assignments are covered. This includes creating and distributing staffing schedules in a timely manner.
  • Provides comfort to patients inside the imaging environment and recognizes when and how to escalate patient concerns up the chain of command
  • Presents a positive image at all times while directing and assisting customers
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Required Registration, Licensure or Certification:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR

Preferred Education or Experience:

  • EMT
  • Medical Terminology
  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with customers
