Job Description
Raymond James is seeking a Technology Director with strong leadership skills and application development background. This is a highly visible role within our Raymond James Bank organization to support the continued growth and increasing complexity of the Corporate and Mortgage Banking technology portfolio. In this role, you will have extensive contact with all management levels and other internal customers and will be required to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex information technology issues. The role manages a team responsible for development and modification and/or maintenance of applications (vendor & in-house built) and integrations. An in-depth knowledge of development tools, people management skills and ability to work closely with business partners are key skills needed to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight for key Corporate and Mortgage Banking initiatives, including Corporate Loan Origination Systems (Allvue Everest), LoanIQ reconciliation and integration efforts, Mortgage Loan Origination system (ICE Encompass), and related banking technology solutions. These initiatives require dedicated leadership to drive execution, manage risk, and ensure alignment with business and strategic objectives.
  • Lead a team of specialized analysts and developers and be responsible for managing the team, maturing processes, adhering to service level objectives and agreements, project management activities, and resource management across multiple geographic locations.
  • Coach and develop the team to draw the best performance out of each team member and push them to grow and stretch their skills and abilities.
  • Work with our business partners to understand requirements, design IT solutions and ensure they meet the business needs balanced with a pragmatic approach to design.
  • Ensure that the team maintains high performance, maintainability, and quality standards for software.
  • Influence the prioritization of business unit technology projects, optimal project structure and project administration to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed.
  • Focus on workforce management to accurately capture IT resource capacity involving resources (internal and/or external), processes and practices.
  • Develop and maintain development methodology and ensures all team members understand their responsibilities in this process.

Education/Previous Experience:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience including management or leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience supporting Corporate Lending platforms and processes required; Mortgage Origination experience preferred.

  • Strong technical background supporting both internally developed and vendor-supported applications, including technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, JBoss, Oracle, SQL Server, APIs, and enterprise integration solutions.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance in solution design, estimation, planning, implementation, and production support activities.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies, Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks, and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with risk management, issue management, change management, requirements gathering, IT controls, audit requirements, and application access management.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, identify and mitigate risks, and drive resolution of complex business and technology issues.
  • Experience partnering with Architecture, Infrastructure, Information Security, PMO, and other technology teams to successfully deliver enterprise solutions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Participation in after-hours support activities may be required for critical production issues, file transmission support, and technology implementations.
