Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the multi-year global sourcing strategy for electronic components, including preferred supplier strategy, supplier segmentation, market intelligence, risk mitigation, and cost productivity roadmap.
  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes, bid analysis, supplier selection recommendations, award approvals, and implementation plans for assigned electronic categories and suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, rebates, lead times, payment terms, allocation commitments, quality requirements, inventory programs, VMI/consignment opportunities, and other commercial terms with suppliers and distributors.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to support BOM review, component selection, second-source qualification, PCBA strategy, design-to-value opportunities, product lifecycle management, and obsolescence mitigation.
  • Establish supplier standards and networks that improve capacity availability, production location alignment, resiliency, and continuity of supply across global operations.
  • Analyze supplier cost drivers, including wafer/fab capacity, resin and metals pass-throughs, FX, freight, tariffs, MOQ/MPQ structures, lifecycle status, and distributor margin structures.
  • Create and manage a savings pipeline that includes sourcing events, supplier consolidation, alternate component qualification, value engineering, negotiation, and total-cost reduction initiatives.
  • Review and recommend supplier awards based on total value, including price, quality, delivery, technical capability, risk profile, working capital impact, and business continuity considerations.
  • Monitor electronics market conditions and communicate inflation, allocation, geopolitical, tariff, and obsolescence risks to procurement and business leadership.
  • Manage supplier performance reviews and corrective action plans in partnership with quality, engineering, operations, and planning teams.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions comply with trade, sanctions, restricted-party, cybersecurity, NDA, and supplier onboarding requirements.
  • Develop direct reports or matrixed team members by setting priorities, coaching strategic sourcing discipline, and creating clear execution cadence.

  • Supplier consolidation, preferred supplier utilization, and reduction of unmanaged spend.
  • Supply continuity, supplier on-time delivery, supplier quality performance, and lead-time reduction.
  • Contract coverage, payment-term improvement, and working-capital contribution.
  • Inflation mitigation, cost-avoidance delivery, and market intelligence adoption by the business.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction and speed of execution across engineering, operations, quality, finance, and business unit teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, electronics commodity management, supplier management, or supply chain experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience leading RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract/commercial term development, supplier transitions, and cross-functional sourcing projects.
  • Strong analytical capability, including cost modeling, TCO analysis, market benchmarking, supplier quote analysis, and executive-level business case development.
  • Ability to lead across a matrixed global organization and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience working with ERP, sourcing, spend analytics, contract management, or supplier performance systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare executive-ready recommendations.
  • Direct experience sourcing electronic components, PCBAs, semiconductor distribution, EMS/CM services, or engineered electronic assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of component lifecycle management, second sourcing, BOM cost analysis, allocation management, and electronics supplier/distributor commercial models.
