As part of our continuing growth, we are looking for a motivated and collaborative IT Project Manager (FinOps) to join our inclusive technology team. This role offers the opportunity to lead cloud financial management initiatives, improve cost visibility and accountability, and deliver measurable value across technology and business projects.
Responsibilities - IT Project Management, FinOps & Cloud Cost Optimisation
  • Lead the planning, delivery, and governance of FinOps and IT cost management projects across cloud, infrastructure, application, and digital transformation environments.
  • Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, budgets, risks, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including cloud engineering, DevOps, platform operations, finance, procurement, security, software engineering, and business representatives.
  • Establish and maintain FinOps operating models, processes, governance frameworks, roles, responsibilities, and decision-making structures.
  • Drive cloud cost visibility, allocation, tagging, showback, chargeback, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting improvements.
  • Identify and manage opportunities for cloud cost optimization, including rightsizing, reserved capacity, savings plans, storage optimization, workload scheduling, and service rationalization.
  • Translate business and financial requirements into actionable technology, reporting, and operational deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, benefits, risks, issues, actions, and dependencies, providing clear and timely status reporting.
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering groups, workshops, planning sessions, retrospectives, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Manage suppliers, technology partners, procurement activities, contracts, statements of work, and third-party deliverables where required.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of cloud cost management tools, dashboards, data models, policies, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure project activities align with cloud security, compliance, governance, data protection, architecture, and change management requirements.
  • Measure and communicate realised benefits, financial outcomes, operational improvements, and return on investment.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including plans, RAID logs, financial models, governance records, process documentation, and lessons learned.
Essential Skills - IT Project Management, FinOps & Cloud Financial Management
  • Professional experience managing IT, technology, cloud, infrastructure, digital transformation, or financial management projects.
  • Practical understanding of FinOps principles, including Inform, Optimise, and Operate.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, governance, and stakeholder communications.
  • Understanding of public cloud financial management across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of cloud billing concepts including consumption-based pricing, cost allocation, tagging, budgets, forecasting, chargeback, showback, and unit economics.
  • Experience working with finance, procurement, technology, engineering, and business teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret cost, usage, project, and operational data.
  • Ability to produce clear project plans, financial reports, management information, dashboards, presentations, and executive updates.
  • Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, PRINCE2, or hybrid delivery approaches.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain focus in a changing technology environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, transparent reporting, financial accountability, and value-driven technology delivery.
Desirable Experience - Cloud Cost Optimization, FinOps & Technology Delivery
  • Experience delivering FinOps implementation, cloud cost optimization, cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, or platform engineering projects.
  • Experience using cloud cost management and billing tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Microsoft Cost Management, Azure Advisor, Google Cloud Billing, or equivalent platforms.
  • Familiarity with FinOps dashboards, cost allocation models, tagging strategies, account or subscription structures, and cloud governance policies.
  • Understanding of cloud pricing models, reserved instances, savings plans, committed use discounts, spot pricing, data transfer costs, and storage tiers.
  • Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Excel, or equivalent technologies.
  • Awareness of cloud unit economics, service-level cost metrics, business value metrics, forecasting methods, and technology business management principles.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or equivalent project and collaboration platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation, observability, and IT service management practices.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders, steering committees, suppliers, client relationships, or complex multi-team delivery environments.
  • FinOps certification or willingness to work towards a qualification such as FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Engineer.
  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, AgilePM, or equivalent practical experience.
