Position Summary

The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing contract strategy and execution across the full project lifecycle for a large EPC project. This role acts as a key business partner to project leadership, ensuring effective contract administration, risk mitigation, and change management while protecting the company's contractual interests.

The position supports project execution through analysis of contractual risks and opportunities, coordination with stakeholders, and leadership of contract management activities across engineering, procurement, and construction phases, including site-based operations.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement contract management strategies aligned with project objectives 
  • Analyze contract terms and conditions to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies 
  • Lead contract management activities across the project lifecycle from early phase through closeout 
  • Draft, review, and manage contractual correspondence with clients, partners, subcontractors, and vendors 
  • Prepare and manage change management processes including identification, development, negotiation, and settlement of change orders and claims (EOTs, delays, acceleration, etc.) 
  • Support preparation and negotiation of subcontract and procurement contractual terms 
  • Ensure appropriate flow-down of contractual obligations to subcontractors and vendors 
  • Perform contract compliance monitoring and ensure adherence to contract terms 
  • Support financial and commercial aspects including invoicing, payments, and contract deliverables 
  • Provide input into project planning, scheduling, and cost monitoring to identify contractual impacts 
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance project outcomes and profitability

Leadership / Management Responsibilities 

  • Act as a business partner to Project Managers and Project Directors 
  • Lead and coordinate contract management activities across project teams 
  • Supervise and guide Contract Specialists and Change Coordinators 
  • Interface with internal stakeholders including project teams, legal, procurement, and management 
  • Manage relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors, and external stakeholders
  • Support Construction Director and project leadership in contract interpretation and client engagement 
  • Coordinate with global teams, fabrication sites, and procurement locations 
  • Facilitate alignment between project teams and contract management functions

Compliance / Operational Responsibilities 

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and contractual obligations 
  • Monitor contract conformance and manage contractual risk exposure 
  • Oversee insurance-related contract requirements and claims coordination 
  • Support legal coordination and interface with corporate legal and compliance functions 
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness for project contractual activities 
  • Track and manage risks and opportunities to maintain and improve project performance 
  • Support project reporting related to contracts, cost, schedule, and changes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education qualification 
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in EPC contract management within Oil & Gas or infrastructure projects 
  • Strong knowledge of contract management practices in the energy or related industry 
  • Experience working on construction sites or fabrication environments 
  • Strong understanding of project management, planning, risk, and cost management 
  • Experience with schedule analysis methodologies and Extension of Time (EOT) claims 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities 
  • Ability to manage complex, large-scale engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master's degree (MS/MSc or equivalent) 
  • Contract Management certification
