Job description

Technician Helper
Summary:
Requires the ability to perform light maintenance and repairs which include lube, oil, and filter
changes, balancing and rotation of tires, and flushing cooling systems. This is an entry level
position
Essential Duties:
โ€ข Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with
dealership and factory standards
โ€ข Assist other Service Technicians in heavy-duty truck repair
โ€ข Attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience
โ€ข Maintain a neat and orderly work area
โ€ข Neatly record job summary for all assigned repairs
โ€ข Participate in required educational training as assigned by Service Manager
โ€ข Complete required trainings in designated timeframe
โ€ข Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
โ€ข Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
โ€ข Documents all work performed on the repair order
โ€ข Keeps abreast of machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
โ€ข Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
โ€ข Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
โ€ข Attends company training as required
โ€ข Maintains and cleans vehicles and surrounding shop area
โ€ข Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
โ€ข 0-6 Month of experience as an automotive or diesel technician
โ€ข Must have a valid Driver License (CDL Preferred)
Work Environment:
The employee will be exposed to moving parts and electrical current. Exposed also to grease,
chemicals, dust, dirt, and the heat and cold of the outdoors.
This position requires the employee to frequently stand, stoop, bend, and work in a crouched
position or lying on back on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicles. Employee is required to
reach and work overhead approximately 40% of the time and should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
