Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join the Daifuku Technical Documentation team and help create clear, accurate, and compliant technical documentation supporting our material handling conveyor and sortation product lines. Success in this role relies on mechanical and controls proficiency and a thorough grasp of documentation practices, compliance regulations, and manufacturing workflows. All documentation must align with our ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)


Essential Functions

  • Conduct research, develop written materials, validate content accuracy, and edit documents for publication.
  • Interpret a variety of source materials, including procedural markups, engineering drawings, parts lists, and draft assembly for maintenance and installation instructions.
  • Collect information from subject matter experts to structure, develop, and write technical service documentation.
  • Ability to adapt to Daifuku editorial and review processes.
  • Meet deadlines consistently, track and evaluate progress, and leverage available resources to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and collaborate with a diverse team.
    Maintain strict adherence to style guidelines and accuracy standards.
  • Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and translate them into content appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Utilize CAD software to discern changes in products and translate those changes into effective written communication.
  • Produce draft illustrations—using model files or existing artwork—to support descriptive text.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • +2 years of technical writing experience
  • Experience with AI tools for technical writing, such as automated content generation, translation, and metadata tagging.
  • Preferred experience in distribution center, manufacturing warehousing, or packaging machine environments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
  • Exposure to industrial automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA)
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ISO graphics and writing standards.
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite, Adobe software, and Autodesk programs.
  • Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD and SolidWorks Composer software.
  • Familiar with structured topic-based (DITA) technical writing including experience with PTC Arbortext XML editor or equivalent authoring tool.
