Job Summary:
Tadano Pan America is seeking a Technical Writer to develop and edit technical documents for Manitex products. The role involves collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to create manuals and documentation that communicate technical specifications effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures for operation, service and parts manuals and technical documentation for Manitex products in electronic and hard copy formats.
• Consistently analyzes and organizes documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
• Research, develop and document technical design specifications for manuals and technical literature.
• Manage updates and revisions to manuals and technical literature as directed or needed.
• Interacts with members of the Engineering, Customer Support, and Manufacturing departments as well as outside suppliers to acquire the product information needed in documentation.
• Ability to use CAD data (SolidWorks and AutoCAD) to produce documentation as required, including spare parts manuals, operation or repair instructions, etc.
• Assists with maintaining a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation based on Manitex standardization.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required by management.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as English, Technical Writing, or Technical Communications field.
• A minimum of 2 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer; 8 years preferred.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
• Proven experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
• Proficient in CAD, solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred), Adobe InDesign or other commonly used programs for publishing, including all MS Office programs.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
• Ability to make progress by completing tasks and deliverables in a multi-tasking environment and complete concurrent assignments on time.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing and accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally if requested or required.
Preferred:
• 8 years of industry experience as an effective technical writer.
