As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team and support the development, standardization, and maintenance of technical documentation across engineering, operations, and production environments.


Position Overview

The Technical Writer will play a key role in preparing clear concise written documentation that communicates technical information. They will also lead a group of technical writers to deliver the necessary documentation for the success of the business. The key responsible for creating this position and group are to develop technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on documentation tasks
  • Determine needs of end users in technical documentation
  • Creating documentation and procedures to support the production of Technical Systems.
  • Develop, edit and update documents and work templates for our operations
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to gather information
  • Ensure documents are reviewed by subject matter experts
  • During all phases of development, ensure that the information is complete, accurate, and appropriate for the intended audience
  • Support the engineering and production team in ensuring that customer deliverables for project documentation are delivered on time and to the highest quality
  • Standardize content and format across all platforms and media.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, or English, or diploma in Technical Writing/Information Development
  • Professional technical writing experience in a product development, production or manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of authoring tools
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Previous UAV/UAS experience is considered a strong asset for this role.

HOURS OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The position is an onsite role, and the Employee is required to perform their duties primarily at the Company's designated workplace, as directed by the Company.
  • The standard work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.
  • From time to time, the Employee may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time-sensitive activities, or business priorities.
