Job description

Good Faith Pay Range: In accordance with Virginia law, the good-faith pay range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, skills, and other legitimate business factors.

The Technical Training Specialist delivers high-quality, instructor-led technical training that helps learners build practical, job-ready skills they can applyimmediately. This roleis responsible forpreparing andfacilitatingtechnical courses, validating lab environments, supporting learner success,maintainingtechnical subject matterexpertise, and partnering withinthe Learning & Technology team to continuously improve course quality and delivery.   • Other technologies as assigned
  • Deliver instructor-led technical training in classroom, virtual, and hybrid environments.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into practical, learner-friendly instruction.
  • Prepare andvalidatelabs, software, equipment, and learning environments before delivery.
  • Troubleshoot classroom, learner, software, lab, and technical issues during live instruction.
  • Demonstrate real-world use cases, best practices, and practical application oftechnologies taught.
  • Answer advanced learner questions beyond the published curriculum whenappropriate.
  • Maintain technicalexpertise, certifications, and instructional readiness.
  • Review certification exam changes and recommend curriculum updates.
  • Support learners during class through coaching and technical guidance.
  • Monitor learner engagement, comprehension, lab completion, and feedback.
  • Documentdeliveryobservations, recurring learner questions, and recommended improvements.
  • Participate in course pilots, lab testing, and facilitator readiness activities.
  • Partner with Learning & Technology to improve curriculum, labs, assessments, and delivery methods.
  • RepresentSkillOpsprofessionally while building trust with learners and client stakeholders.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools whereappropriate to improve instructional preparation and learner engagement.
  • Travel to client locations asrequiredfor onsite training delivery

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years delivering instructor-led technical training or comparable technical education.
  • Expertisein one or more Microsoft technologies, CompTIA certification domains, or enterprise software platforms.
  • AI Experience: Demonstrated experience using and teaching artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies, including generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, or Claude, ability to incorporate AI tools into technical training, productivity workflows, and hands-on learning activities.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills in live learning environments.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for learners with varying experience levels.
  • Experience working with virtual labs, cloud-based learning environments, or hands-on technical labs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
  • Willingness to travelto client sites asrequired
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent).
  • Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).
  • Experience teaching adult learners and certification preparation courses.
  • Experience developing or improving technical curriculum.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and enterprise productivity platforms.
