We are seeking an Audiovisual Support Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Audiovisual Support Engineer,you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Design and engineer tailored A/V and unified communications solutions by selecting appropriate technologies, components, and vendors to meet organizational and ministry needs.
  • Integrate, configure, program, and calibrate A/V hardware and software to deliver reliable, interoperable systems across meeting rooms and workspaces.
  • Diagnose and resolve A/V system issues through effective troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, testing, and on-site or remote technical support.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, facilities, contractors, vendors, and project managers to successfully plan, implement, and maintain A/V solutions aligned with operational goals.
  • Develop system documentation and user guidance, provide staff training, and support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and after-hours service requirements to ensure long-term system reliability and adoption.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Production Engineering, or related field and four (4) to seven (7) years of experience, or an Associate's Degree and six (6) to ten (10) years of related work experience, training, and/or certifications. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise AV systems, including Crestron, Q-SYS, and Extron. Experience supporting Joint Operations and Situation Room environments. Experience deploying conferencing solutions such as Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms.
  • Knowledge of professional audio systems, AV-over-IP technologies such as Dante and NDI, and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot AV hardware and collaboration technologies, including cameras, displays, LED walls, switchers, signal distribution systems, and interactive devices.
