Job description

STS Technical Services is hiring a Quality Coordinator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to support quality assurance, employee training and calibration activities for a growing manufacturing operation.
This position is responsible for developing quality documentation, training production employees, maintaining competency records and ensuring gauges and equipment remain properly calibrated. The ideal candidate has experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system and can collaborate effectively with Quality, Engineering, Operations and external vendors.
Position Overview
The Quality Coordinator plays an important role in maintaining product and process standards across four manufacturing sites in the Milwaukee area.
This position works closely with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Operations Supervisors to develop visual aids and work instructions, train employees on quality requirements and maintain accurate documentation. The Quality Coordinator also oversees calibration records, coordinates gauge repairs and helps communicate quality alerts throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Develop quality standards, visual aids and work instructions addressing key internal quality issues
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to improve quality documentation
  • Train Operations employees on quality standards in a classroom environment
  • Help employees build quality into the production process and reduce internal defects
  • Coordinate employee training with Operations Supervisors
  • Maintain training and competency records for current and newly hired employees
  • Deliver training on assigned work instructions and quality standards
  • Maintain all quality standards within the Right to Know Quality Center
  • Ensure quality documents reflect current revisions and match the Master Document record
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders to maintain employee training competencies
  • Maintain the calibration program and ensure only properly calibrated gauges and equipment are used
  • Verify that calibration records remain accurate and current
  • Coordinate calibration activities with external vendors and Operations teams
  • Organize gauge repair activities with external vendors
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure gauges are available when needed
  • Develop and distribute quality bulletins and quality alerts
  • Maintain quality communications across four Milwaukee-area facilities
  • Support additional Production and Quality team responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Quality or a related technical discipline
  • Community or technical college certification in a relevant field
  • High school diploma with applicable manufacturing quality experience may also be considered
  • Experience working in quality control or quality assurance
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system
  • Experience training Operations employees on quality standards and work instructions
  • Experience with gauge calibration and calibration record maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform audits and inspections effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong quality document management skills
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to understand manufacturing processes

Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience with welding processes
  • Experience with paint operations
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical assembly
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish

Work Location
This position supports four manufacturing sites located within approximately 10 to 15 minutes of one another in the Milwaukee area.
