Overhead Door Sales & Service Manager

Role Summary

Advanced Window Systems is expanding its product and service offerings beyond windows and entry doors by launching a residential and light commercial overhead door division. The Overhead Door Sales & Service Manager will lead the development of this new business, building the operation from the ground up while establishing the technical, operational, and sales foundation for long-term success.

We're looking for an experienced overhead door professional with strong knowledge of residential and commercial door systems, installation and service, manufacturers, and product sourcing. This individual will use that expertise to build and grow a profitable, scalable operation.

This role combines technical expertise with leadership, business development, and day-to-day operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Service Leadership

  • Lead and perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance for residential and light commercial overhead doors
  • Work across sectional, rolling steel, high-lift, operators, and related systems
  • Establish safety standards, service protocols, and quality expectations
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex troubleshooting and repairs
  • Train, coach, and eventually help hire overhead door technicians

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Drive overhead door sales through service calls, replacements, upgrades, and new installations
  • Support estimating, quoting, and job scoping for both residential and commercial customers
  • Identify upsell and replacement opportunities
  • Partner with AWS leadership and sales teams to grow this new service line
  • Build relationships with builders, contractors, property managers, and homeowners

Program & Operations Build-Out

  • Build the overhead door service and sales program from scratch
  • Design workflows for service calls, installations, scheduling, and follow-up
  • Establish pricing models, margins, and service rates
  • Set up inventory, truck stock, and ordering processes
  • Create documentation and playbooks to ensure consistency and scalability

Vendor & Manufacturer Management

  • Identify and recommend preferred overhead door manufacturers and suppliers
  • Establish purchasing channels and vendor relationships
  • Advise AWS leadership on product selection, availability, and cost structures
  • Stay current on manufacturer programs, warranties, and product updates

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an overhead door service technician
  • Proven experience with both residential and light commercial overhead door systems
  • Strong background in installation, repair, troubleshooting, and replacement
  • Working knowledge of major overhead door manufacturers and suppliers
  • Experience with estimating, quoting, or selling overhead door services preferred
  • Prior lead technician or supervisory experience is a strong plus
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
