As an Associate Solutions Consultant, you will launch your career by learning Appian's platform, customer engagement approach, and technical sales process. This role is a premier gateway into tech pre-sales, offering a structured path to mastering technical storytelling and value-based discovery. You will work alongside some of the smartest, most creative people in the industry, learning how to move enterprise customers beyond feature evaluation and toward true strategic transformation.

What You'll Do

  • Learn Appian's platform architecture, including AI capabilities, Data Fabric, Process HQ, and core solutioning patterns.
  • Support custom demonstrations, customer workshops, and technical discovery sessions under the guidance of experienced Solutions Consultants.
  • Assist with technical presentations, prototype preparation, and customer-facing solution narratives.
  • Partner with Solutions Consultants and Account Executives to uncover business objectives and map requirements to measurable customer outcomes.
  • Participate in internal enablement, demo practice, and team story debriefs to rapidly build enterprise software positioning skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM/business field with a strong academic record.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a professional, academic, or technical setting (includes internships, research, capstones, or consistent part-time/full-time employment).
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a professional environment and to present technical ideas clearly to both business and technical users.
  • Technical Skills: Foundational exposure to modern environments or programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, HTML, APIs, or database concepts).
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven fluency in AI and LLMs, encompassing both the strategic development of AI-powered platform capabilities and the hands-on application of AI tools to accelerate daily workflows.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g. executive roles in student organizations, club leadership, or captaincy of team-based activities).
  • High curiosity, coachability, and a strong desire to build a career in technical pre-sales, including a willingness to travel for customer engagements.
  • Experience building custom demos, software prototypes, or contributing to technical RFPs/RFIs.
  • Basic understanding of application architecture, cloud infrastructure, and web/application servers.
  • Commercial acumen and an interest in partnering with sales teams on account planning and pipeline progression.
  • We value experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow, as these skills translate well into our Enterprise-Grade Orchestration environment.
