About the role
Job Summary
Responsible for reviewing plans, technical specifications and drawings to determine JWC product mix recommendation and pricing to be included in proposals.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Effectively respond to the requests and requirements of outside sales team and Consulting Engineers to ensure that current and prospective customers are being communicated consistently on all the Company's product lines.
• Communicates and follows-up with manufacturer's representative network to provide specifications and technical sales information to influence Consulting Engineers, contractors and end-user customers.
• Reviews technical specifications and customers' requirements to determine JWC product mix.
• Completes Formal Quotes and Direct Bids as required.
• Works closely with sales managers, Consulting Engineers to quote and provide correct product mix at a profitable price.
• Follows-up with reps and prospective customers on quotation/proposal status.
• Reviews purchase orders and provide feedback to Contract Administration if terms are unclear or if PO is not valid.
• Resolves customer concerns in a timely manner, understands customer's needs, applications and specifications.
• Works closely with outside sales staff, R&D and Operations in order to prepare timely and accurate proposals.
• Builds relationships to provide repeat business and excellent customer service.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Education, Experience & Skills:
Required: Associates Degree in a Technical area or 2 years of related experience
Desirable: CSI specification certification
• 1-2+ years with technical sales, Applications Engineering or Sales Engineering in the North American public works industry. Preferably wastewater treatment industry.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as outstanding overall presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform equipment take-offs from bid packages.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications including basic knowledge of motor control electrical schematics
• Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
• Highly self-motivated.
• Flexible, reliable, strong work ethic, dependable team player, positive, constructive attitude.
• Outstanding business etiquette skills.
• Knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications.
Salary: $75K -90K
