Cyber Security Project Manager
Position Summary:
Accountable for managing Cyber Security (CS) capital projects with scope, cost and schedule certainty in alignment with the defined stage gate process. This role provides direction to project team members and resolves or escalates issues that affect these projects. Provides management insight into the assigned projects and how the status of those projects affects business and operational goals. Ensures the effective balancing of talent and resourcing to meet project requirements. Ensures effective coordination and management of projects and activities within the team to include project requirements and design definition, testing, evaluation plans, timelines, and operational planning in support of cybersecurity initiatives. The project portfolio includes CS application software, networking, and infrastructure projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate and document project related activities.
  • Lead the project team to establish leading indicators and proactive requirements to deliver customer value and business outcomes; execute projects in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines, policies and processes; adhere to all reporting and submission deadlines, including monthly financial cost analysis.
  • Define the project organization structure required for the project and identify the technical resources required to achieve project goals; work with appropriate Entergy management and/or vendor partner for assignment of resources to the project team; prepare and manage vendor contracts and change orders, review vendor invoices and route for approval.
  • Manage assigned projects to meet scope, budget, and schedule commitments and maintain communication channels to provide CS and customer stakeholders with insight into the projects and their status; resolve and/or escalate risks and issues as necessary.
  • Provide clear, timely and accurate project status reports; prepare reports and presentations to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Update dashboards which quickly and efficiently provide project status updates for consumption by leaders, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Provide direction, oversight and coordination to various internal and external resources providing services for the projects assigned.
  • Participate in the acquisition of related software, products and services.
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks; track and review vendor deliverables (as applicable).
  • Responsible to ensure that overall project technical design aligns with architecture and security standards.
  • Proactively manage risks; actively create and execute mitigation plans to prevent unauthorized or unplanned increases in scope, schedule and budget.
  • Assess current project performance.
  • Review project deliverables for quality, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with customer expectations, timelines & budget constraints. Follow change control processes for implementations and project change requests to budget, scope, or schedule.
  • Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solution of problems; adjust project activities and drive actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and industry laws, regulations and guidelines as required per the project scope, procurement, and change control processes.

Minimum Education needed:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Minimum Experience needed:
  • Minimum of 2-5 years leading projects as a project manager or program manager (preferred experience in Information/Cybersecurity project management). Leadership experience directing resources and managing work across multiple teams and people is required.
  • The ideal candidate has a Cybersecurity or IT background and has engaged on project work, and has led complex projects or project initiatives, and has a strong career desire to be a project management professional.
  • Must have experience with Project Scheduling Software (Microsoft Project, P6, etc.) to create and manage schedules. Able to break down complex activities into a sequence of work activities and establish task dependencies.
  • Strong understanding and a minimum of 2 years of experience managing project cost controls including the ability to track, forecast, and reconcile project financial data.
  • Experienced with timeline creation and communication.
  • Experienced with communications and engagement at multiple levels: technical individual contributors, contractors, vendors, management, and executive management.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed:
  • Background and understanding of IT and / or Cybersecurity systems and operations.
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity standards (such as NIST-CSF) and an understanding of executing projects in a regulated environment (i.e. SOX, NERC CIP, FERC, NRC, etc.).
  • Must be proficient in office tools such as Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be proficient with meeting scheduling, meeting facilitation, and collaboration tools including on-line meetings, instant messaging, and video conferencing.
  • Ability to manage multiple cross functional project resources to ensure successful implementation of projects.
  • Experienced with procurement processes including contract and vendor management.
  • Available to travel as needed, be available, and able to work irregular hours for project go-lives and deadlines.
  • Must be able to report to the Entergy office as required during normal working hours for collaboration meetings and on-site events and must satisfy residency requirements per Entergy's Work Location Flexibility policy.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position:
  • PMI PMP Certification is strongly preferred. Alternative project management certifications or equivalent knowledge, education, and experience must demonstrate mastery of project / program management tools and methodologies. Agile certification is a plus.
