About the Role:

As a Project Manager, your primary duties will be overseeing technical and financial aspects of various projects, managing and developing client relationships, and marketing Pickett’s services to existing and new clients.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage various projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
  • Responsible for overall project performance as well as managing the scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance of each project
  • Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are maintained, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
  • Coordinate and work with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
  • Develop financial controls reports with Accounting and Project Controls to produce weekly/monthly reports for client and internal review (i.e., Financial Reports, Action Item Lists, Resource loading analysis and schedules, etc.)
  • Interface directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule and risks across a portfolio of assigned projects
  • Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documents, development of requests for proposal responses and cost estimates
  • Support Marketing with proposal development, including scope, schedule and budgets
  • Write comprehensive and technical project reports
  • Work with Accounting and Project Controls on monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Perform other duties as needed

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of related experience (required)
  • PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required)
  • Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm is highly desired
  • Experience in transmission line design and management (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Some travel is required
