The Manager, Technical Project Management is responsible for leading and directing the Technical Project Management team and activities supporting Aldevron clients. This role requires strong knowledge of GMP biomanufacturing processes and demonstrated people leadership to lead TPMs responsible for technically complex, client-paid projects such as process development, analytical method development/validation, and process validation in support of client programs. The Manager drives TPM excellence through standard work, metrics, training, and continuous improvement, and serves as an escalation point for high-risk technical execution challenges.

This position reports to the Director, Project Management and is part of the Project Management team located in Fargo, ND and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and direct the Technical Project Management team and TPM activities supporting Aldevron clients, including coaching and developing Technical Project Managers on stakeholder engagement, task management, and clear internal and external communication.

  • Serve as an escalation point for technical and operational questions, barriers to success, project risks, and significant execution variances; partner cross-functionally to drive mitigation and resolution.

  • Drive TPM excellence through standard work, departmental policies and procedures, training, metrics, and continuous improvement of technical project execution.

  • Partner with Project Management, Project Portfolio Management, Sales, and cross-functional leaders to align resources to critical client and organizational priorities and support on-time/on-budget delivery of technical project milestones.

  • Define, collect, and report TPM metrics to leadership; use metrics, project plans, timeline forecasting, and resource planning to identify capacity constraints, execution challenges, and improvement opportunities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in the life sciences or related field

  • Prefer 5+ years' experience in project management with preference for 2+ years of leadership experience

  • Prefer 3+ years' experience managing client-facing projects or teams in a regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical field required, CDMO experience preferred

  • Master's degree in project management or PMP certification strongly preferred

  • Successful experience building high performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • This role may include up to 15% travel.
