Location: Chattanooga, TN (Headquarters) | Onsite/Hybrid
Lead innovation, mentor high-performing engineering teams, and help shape the future of technology at TEL. As the Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions that support critical business operations and strategic initiatives.
This role combines technical leadership, people management, and project execution. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive technology solutions, advance engineering best practices, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers by providing technical guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.

  • Promote the delivery of high-quality, secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Project Management

Education amp; Experience

  • Previous experience in a software engineering leadership or management role overseeing development teams and technical initiatives.
  • Strong experience with programming languages and technologies such as C#, .NET, JavaScript, Python, and Java.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and leading teams in collaborative delivery environments.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Databricks, Azure Functions, Azure Web Services, Azure SQL Services, and responsive web application development is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and the ability to guide teams in their responsible and effective use, including understanding of prompt engineering basics, awareness of AI output limitations, model-assisted coding workflows, automation opportunities, and the importance of human review and validation of AI-generated content and code.
