The position is ideal for someone who enjoys research, structured assignments, and managing detailed information. Proposal deadlines are often firm, so the successful candidate must be dependable, organized, comfortable learning new software, and able to produce accurate work within strict timeframes.

The intern will gain hands-on experience with the full proposal process, from researching opportunities and reviewing solicitation requirements to assembling, proofreading, and submitting final proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research public and private RFP, RFQ, and other procurement opportunities that may align with Moran’s services, experience, and geographic coverage.
  • Review solicitation documents to identify the project scope, required qualifications, submission instructions, evaluation criteria, and deadlines.
  • Prepare concise internal summaries to help Moran determine whether an opportunity is a strong fit.
  • Enter and maintain opportunity information within Moran’s RFP and proposal management software.
  • Create proposal drafts using established templates, company information, project experience, staff qualifications, and approved content.
  • Coordinate with team members to gather resumes, project descriptions, references, forms, and other required materials.
  • Track proposal deadlines, internal assignments, document versions, and outstanding information.
  • Proofread proposals for spelling, grammar, formatting, consistency, accuracy, and compliance with submission requirements.
  • Confirm that completed proposals include all required forms, attachments, signatures, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with electronic proposal submissions and maintain organized records of completed proposals.
  • Update proposal templates, project information, staff resumes, and reusable content as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, communications, ISDS, or other related fields.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet firm deadlines.
  • Strong written communication, editing, and proofreading abilities.
  • Comfortable conducting online research and reviewing detailed documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents.
  • Ability and willingness to learn proposal management software and other digital platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship, coursework, or experience involving research, technical writing, business development, procurement, or proposal preparation.
  • Familiarity with RFPs and RFQs.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, or document-management platforms.

Previous proposal experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided on Moran’s services, proposal process, templates, and software.

What You Will Gain

  • Practical experience researching and evaluating business opportunities.
  • Exposure to the commercial real estate and construction consulting industries.
  • Experience creating professional RFP and RFQ responses.
