Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The TMBC Boat Sales and Service Manager position supervises TMBC Boat and ATV Sales and Service departments within the store. The role is responsible for merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, service, warranty, rigging, delivery, detail and parts, staff selection and development, team training and coaching, and customer service experience. Additional responsibilities include compliance with state and federal laws, and company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Meets or exceeds all financial plans as set by the Company for sales, service and parts, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals.
  • Provides a legendary experience and engagement for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating customers' needs, making product recommendations based off this analysis, promoting programs including, but not limited to White River Financial Services, Bass Pro Financial Services, the sale of extended service contracts, CLUB Membership, customer feedback surveys and dealership pick-up.
  • Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring & training, planning, assigning and directing work; measuring and evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Executes all Sales plans as directed by the Company.
  • Maintains planograms, point of sale displays, and inventory price signage as set by the Corporate Office.
  • Staff the Departments with "service" oriented outfitters; participates in interviewing and selection, coordinates training, prepares / approves performance appraisals, recommends merit / promotional increases, prepares weekly work schedules, coaches, and motivates associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
  • Resolves customer and outfitter issues.
  • Service center productivity - owns, maintains, and constantly strives to increase technician and rigger productivity.
  • Schedules and assigns all service, rigging, and warranty work orders and ensures all work orders are completed to customer satisfaction in a timely manner.
  • Maintains/ensures a safe, clean, and secure work environment.
  • Ensures warranty claims are created, submitted and warranty payments received on a timely basis.
  • Ensures parts ordering, receiving cycle counts, and inventory processes are followed.
  • Ensures products are properly detailed and unit deliveries are conducted in a friendly and professional manner as scheduled.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Years of experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in Retail Management, Marine and Powersports Industry, and/or Dealership Management, with responsibility for one or more Sales/Service Departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of other financial, legal, and technical information
  • Ability to read and analyze dealership reports. Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, associates, customers, and the public
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers and with the Corporate Staff
  • Demonstrated use of Team concept of Management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walk, sit, stand, and work on computers.
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
