As a Lead Technical Program Manager in Commercial & Investment bank , you will drive the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs that will help reaching business goals across the firm. Leveraging your deep knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential for developing innovative solutions, while simultaneously effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams. you will lead the delivery of complex, high-impact payments platform products including Real-Time Payments, and other next-generation payment solutions. You will play a pivotal role in executing product strategy, launch, and lifecycle management, driving innovation and ensuring interoperability with industry exchange, clearing, and settlement systems. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated leader who excels at translating business value into actionable technical requirements, thrives in ambiguity, and partners closely with engineering and product leads to drive strategy, delivery, and alignment. As a subject matter expert, you will contribute to the development of operational plans and risk management strategies, ensuring the highest quality and professionalism in service delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of payments platform projects, from strategy and scoping through execution, launch, and post-implementation analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and governance structures to ensure transparency and accountability. 
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support program management workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted plans, risks, and recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following data handling expectations
  • Lead cross-functional teams including product, technology, operations, and others to deliver platform solutions that meet business and client needs.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors. 
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to align on goals, resolve issues, and drive project success. 
  • Work closely with engineering and product leads to drive strategic direction, ensure alignment, and deliver on business objectives. 
  • Partner with product owners, engineers, and architects to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure seamless integration and interoperability across platforms and APIs. 
  • Establish and maintain robust governance structures, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, and industry standards for payments platforms.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, driving remediation to closure.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
  • Experience managing technical projects in payments platforms, merchant services, or financial technology. 
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex platform solutions. 
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support program management workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted plans, risks, and recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following data handling expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business value into technical requirements and drive strategic alignment across teams. 
  • Strong technical understanding of payments products, APIs, integration patterns, and platform interoperability (RTP, ACH, wires, etc.). 
  • Experience supporting sales teams and interfacing with clients, engineers, and product teams. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and presenting reports to senior management.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with technologies such as REST APIs, HTML, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Snowflake, Splunk, and mobile/web application development. 
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) and cloud-based solutions. 
  • Prepare and present executive-level updates, status reports, and dashboards to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of payments industry regulations, compliance requirements, and platform standards.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
