Technical Program Manager Washington D.C.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to oversee a diverse range of technology programs and projects for a Randstad client. The Program Manager will leverage a strong background in project management to manage schedules, budgets, and scope while ensuring adherence to best practices in change, configuration, and quality management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, effectively engage with stakeholders, and lead teams of subject matter experts. This role requires hands-on project management experience, with an emphasis on tracking risks, mitigating issues, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and scope across multiple initiatives.
  • Track and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Adhere to change management, configuration management, and quality management best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and progress.
  • Oversee and lead teams of subject matter experts across various disciplines.
  • Produce and manage weekly/monthly status reports highlighting key activities, accomplishments, issues, and decisions.
  • Forecast and manage budget and schedule changes, communicating with leadership for approval or rebaselining.
  • Travel up to 25% for project-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of program or project management experience, from initiation through implementation.
  • PMP certification required; ITIL v4 certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the transportation industry or military is a plus.
