POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Manager will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Technical/Engineering for the Iowa Park, TX facility.
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position will develop and drive Technical/Engineering  to deliver and sustain profitable growth. It will establish and enable a consolidated process improvement program designed to integrate the business processes for continuously improving performance, using the Lean Initiative as the change methodology, which results in improved quality, efficiency and profitability for the company. Process improvement work will include improving safety and environmental performance, reducing energy requirements, and incremental production increases. It will work with highly talented and successful people to guide and reinforce a team of self-managed/achievement-oriented Process Technicians. A fundamental task will be to support and influence change and provide direction and guidance for the team to ensure that the technical goals are met for critical manufacturing components. This position will require an ability to work through several upper-level management positions such as directors of engineering, quality, multiple business unit directors, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership Responsibilities:

Develop technical budget plans and implement systems to capture, analyze and share key process indicators.
Consult with Plant Manager to establish strategic plans, objectives, risks, contingency plans, and resource allocation.
Provide direction, guidance, and mentoring to ensure day-to-day support needs and goals are met.
Communicate and work with all levels to support global/corporate goals and metrics.
Conduct performance reviews and track process improvement via scorecards/metrics.

Process Engineering Responsibilities:

Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects to successful completion.
Provide process-engineering support locally and across the organization.
Define and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost.
Lead tests, analyze data, improve yield using statistics and DOE.
Lead projects to improve capacity, yield, cycle time, and cost; integrate Lean and Six Sigma.
Review and implement engineering change orders affecting production.
Manage spare parts inventory, contractors, HVAC/utilities, and space utilization.
Direct essential plant services (security, cleaning, cafeteria) and ensure overall cleanliness.

EDUCATION
  • Five or more years of work experience in the field of manufacturing/engineering (plastics manufacturing preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (mechanical or chemical preferred)
  • Extensive printing, extrusion and converting systems knowledge and expertise preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Works independently or in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible, innovative, and self-directed.

Salary Range: $126,600 - $217,005 

The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs. Sealed Air offers a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits designed to promote well-being.
