Deltak Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a motivated and safety-focused HSE Technician to support our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program at our New Iberia facility. This position works closely with the HSSE Manager to promote a safe work environment, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide safety training and support throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the HSSE Manager to maintain and update the HSE program and training materials based on site-specific needs.
  • Conduct and present HSE orientations, training sessions, safety meetings, and tailgate meetings in both classroom and field settings.
  • Assess, audit, and inspect facilities and worker activities to ensure safety compliance, provide guidance, and improve safety measures.
  • Maintain HSE records, including first aid, incidents, audits/inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Work with the HSSE Manager and environmental organizations on initiatives such as spill prevention, site sampling, reporting, recycling, and land and water protection.
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and emergency response training and care.
  • Complete duties while wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the job.
  • Report any significant HSE issues immediately to the HSSE Manager.
  • Work 40 hours per week with potential overtime based on business needs.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three (3) years of HSE experience with applicable certifications or qualifications from an accredited educational institution, technical program, NCCER, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a diverse workforce
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, courtesy, dignity, trust, and respect with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, email, and two-way radio.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to build positive working relationships throughout the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of HSE experience in structural steel fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, piping, industrial coatings, or a related industrial environment.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification preferred.
  • Experience conducting safety training and workplace audits.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening.
  • Regularly sit, stand, and walk throughout an 8–10 hour shift.
  • Frequently stoop, bend, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and access all areas of the facility.
