Job Description:
Microchip's Frequency and Timing Systems group is a world leader in precise time solutions that are integrated into position, navigation, and time applications. The company generates, distributes, and applies precise time for communications, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure, Cloud Data Centers, and national metrology laboratories. Microchip is seeking a Senior Product Management Engineer to join our team. As a Product Management Engineer, you will support and grow the business in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
The position will work closely with R&D development engineering, solutions architecture, and Microchip sales teams to develop technical solutions to meet diverse customer needs. Be part of a team to champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of product line management, from concept through deployment
  • Define system-level solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Integrate hardware, embedded software, and server/cloud-based platforms into cohesive solutions
  • Develop and deliver technical demonstrations showcasing system capabilities
  • Prepare detailed, customer-focused technical proposals and solution documentation
  • Work with GPS/GNSS receiver systems and simulation technologies
  • Design and support packet-based networking solutions
  • Develop and manage software control and system management platforms
  • Install, configure, and maintain virtual machine environments

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (CS, EE, or CE preferred)
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple geographic locations
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong ability to communicate technical principles and results in both written and verbal formats
  • Curious and creative with respect to new concepts and technologies
  • Ability to investigate and document customer requirements and translate them into product development requirements for engineering and operations teams
  • Ability to capture product requirements in a product/market requirements document and collaborate closely with Engineering to execute roadmap features
  • Strong understanding of the product line business and ability to build effective go-to-market plans and programs in collaboration with outbound marketing; drive the launch of new products into target market segments
  • Business acumen to establish competitive product line strategies and ensure the success of Microchip's clock and timing products and services
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to execute effectively
  • Willingness to develop and present product and technical content at conferences
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-20% travel required)
