Job description

New Tech Global is currently seeking a Process Technician for a manufacturing client in St. Joseph.
1st and 2nd shift schedules available
This is a technical plastics process role focused on setup, changeovers, and dialing in machine parameters.  Experience with extruders or blow molding, plastic molding, or injection molding is preferrable.
Experience working on a computer.
The process tech will be responsible for changeovers, mode changes.  Dealing with plastics, familiar with specs that have to be to customized, things like the weight and the density.  The Process Tech makes changes to the program to the specs to make sure they stay within the required ranges.
Plastics Process Technician role focused on machine setup, changeovers, and dialing in process parameters to ensure product quality and efficiency. It's focused on optimizing molding equipment through program adjustments and process control.

Primary Function is to operate and optimize plastic molding machines to improve quality and efficiency.
Role Summary:

This is a plastics process-focused technical role. The position functions as a floor-level technical lead / senior setup technician who:

  • Performs machine setup and changeovers (mold changes, mode changes)

  • Adjusts machine programs and process parameters (cycle time, temperature, pressure, weight, density specs)

  • Troubleshoots process-related defects and performs root cause analysis

  • Works to reduce scrap, improve efficiency, and minimize downtime

  • Monitors process data and ensures specs stay within required ranges

  • Trains operators and junior technicians

  • Assists with new equipment launches
