Account Manager โ€“ Plastic Sales Position Overview
Thunderbird Molding is a full-service custom injection molder offering injection molding, insert and over molding, as well as assembly, heat-staking, pad printing, sonic welding, and other value-added services. We've built a solid reputation in the injection molding industry through a coordinated blend of several key elements: design, engineering, "in-house" mold manufacturing, efficient production, and all-encompassing service. As the decades have passed, we've enhanced that reputation by strictly adhering to quality control in the constant monitoring of the molding and secondary processes. As a result of our commitment to quality and efficiency, competitive pricing and prompt delivery are what our customers have justifiably come to expect from doing business with us.
New account development is essential to our growth objectives, we are seeking a motivated, experienced, and dedicated sales professional to help grow our business.
The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of the injection molding process with a technical background serving as the base for dialogue with customers. Approximately 90% of our current accounts are in the Midwest, with focus in the states of Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. Candidate would be responsible for servicing this region, but may be asked to extend beyond, should opportunities arise.
Account Manager โ€“ Plastic Sales Essential Functions
  • Develop relationships with new and existing accounts to generate quote opportunities.
  • Conduct in-person meetings/presentations with accounts.
  • Follow up and monitor status of quoted programs. Reports required.
  • Continually develop new business, proactively network and prospect for new customer contacts with intention of building long-lasting business relationships.
  • Accurately collect all required information for the Costing Dept so that projects can be quoted in a timely fashion.
  • Continually service all accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and provide assistance where needed.
Account Manager โ€“ Plastic Sales Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive travel necessary.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a sale from cold call through close.
  • Documented ability to identify and develop targets which fit business plan.
  • Documented success in account management and service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Able to speak in front of small groups, prepare and present impactful presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Preferred Technical knowledge of injection molding.
  • Sales experience in a manufacturing, new product design environment.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Technical background.
