Position Overview:

The Manager of Technical Accounting is responsible for technical accounting research, policy development, financial reporting compliance, and accounting guidance for complex transactions. This role serves as the organization's subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP, supports strategic initiatives, and helps ensure consistent accounting practices across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, interpret, and implement new and existing U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda and documentation for complex accounting issues and transactions.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor emerging accounting guidance and assess organizational impact.
  • Provide accounting support for acquisitions, business combinations, leases, debt arrangements, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Support enterprise projects, system implementations, and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with regulatory metric reporting and forecasting, including composite score and 90/10 calculations.
  • Serve as the primary technical accounting resource for finance leadership and cross-functional business partners.
  • Coordinate technical accounting matters with external auditors and support annual audits.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for business activities across departments.
  • Deliver training and guidance on accounting policies, standards updates, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.
  • Evaluate and document internal controls related to technical accounting and complex transactions.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by finance leadership.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience researching and applying U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with complex accounting transactions preferred.
  • Higher education or multi-entity experience preferred.

Physical Demands


Primarily office-based work involving extended computer use, communication with internal and external stakeholders, document review, and management of multiple priorities.
