Your Role at Givaudan Sense Colour

As a Technical Manager – Natural Colours, you will lead and develop a team of scientists while overseeing the successful execution of technical and product development projects. You will serve as a trusted customer-facing technical expert, guiding day-to-day interactions and ensuring strong outcomes across multiple initiatives.

In this role, you will combine leadership, food science expertise, and project management skills to drive innovation, strengthen customer partnerships, and support continued business growth.

Technical Manager Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop lab scientists and application experts
  • Manage multiple colour development and product innovation projects simultaneously
  • Serve as a technical expert during customer visits, calls, and presentations
  • Build strong customer relationships through responsive, solution-oriented support
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, commercial teams, and customers
  • Drive projects from concept through commercialization and completion
  • Support innovation initiatives tied to natural colour applications and evolving market needs
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure timely execution and successful project outcomes
  • Provide technical guidance related to food ingredient performance, formulation, and applications

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the natural colour ingredients industry may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree
  • Experience working for an ingredient manufacturer with expertise in natural colours
  • Basic knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Systems, including ISO, GMP, GHP, and HACCP
  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing scientific role
  • Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Food Science or a related scientific field
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams
  • Strong presentation and customer communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple technical or product development projects
  • Experience supporting food or beverage applications development
  • Knowledge of ingredient commercialization processes
