Deltak Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects from estimating through project completion. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in steel fabrication estimating, project scheduling, and client communication. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, safety, and profitability.

ResponsibilitiesProject Lifecycle Management
  • Manage projects from initial bid through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, production personnel, and management throughout each project.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines while resolving issues proactively.
Technical Document Review
  • Read, interpret, and review fabrication drawings, specifications, project plans, details, and manuals.
  • Ensure project requirements are fully understood before production.
  • Clearly communicate estimates, project scope, and technical requirements to customers and internal teams.
Estimating & Cost Analysis
  • Prepare accurate labor estimates, material takeoffs, Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and pricing for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects.
  • Identify cost variables and evaluate project risks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation supporting all estimates and pricing decisions.
Vendor & Supplier Management
  • Solicit and compare quotations from vendors and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery expectations are met.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, including estimating for structural steel fabrication projects.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and CAD software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, and Solid Edge.
  • Experience creating technical drawings for structural steel fabrication and pipe manufacturing.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout an 8–10 hour workday.
  • Ability to work in year-round industrial and outdoor conditions.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
