Manages program and project implementation strategies, overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects across the UMMC enterprise. Analyzes and develops documentation for programs, proposing innovative analytical and visualization models to track, analyze, and report data. Provides essential data to support data-driven business decisions. Collaborates with leaders to identify improvement opportunities and works with informatics and analytics personnel to deliver effective solutions.Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience in data analytics, information systems, clinical practice, revenue, or finance.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration required:

Epic certification or accreditation in one of the following data models: Clinical Data Model, Access Data Model or Revenue Data Model. If not Epic certified or accredited, must obtain Epic certification or accreditation post hire within six (6) months of hire. An Epic assessment will be given to those candidates who pass the initial review step of the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare or in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Knowledge of information systems, program management process, informatics, data analysis, data trending, report design and development management. Expertise with program management tools and methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal and customer service skills including ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups. Critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analyses and effectively resolve problems. Knowledge of business and operational processes to effectively report meaningful data. Ability to carry out work with high attention to detail, to prioritize, and to meet deadlines. Ability to prepare and present periodic program reports and maintain records and documentation. Knowledge of management principles and ability to supervise, evaluate, and provide functional guidance to others. Ability to ensure policies, procedures, and processes are followed and implemented.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, mentors and evaluates Epic Cogito certified analysts. Communicates and works effectively with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Works closely with the center for informatics and analytics (CIA) leadership to develop intelligence program implementation, data visualization, and reporting strategies.
  • Leads the development and implementation of data governance and transformation initiatives to align with healthcare organizational goals. This includes defining roles and responsibilities for data stewardship, ownership, and accountability, while promoting standardized data definitions and robust metadata management to ensure data integrity, interoperability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees and manages daily operational aspects of the center for informatics and analytics (CIA). Manages a portfolio of multiple projects. Responsible for oversight and implementation of program and project management methodology, functions, processes, tools, and documentation for all assigned projects.
  • Leads the design, build, implementation, and ongoing management of Epic Cogito analytics and reporting solutions at large project/program level.
  • Collaborates with UMMC leadership and clinical, business and/or functional area experts to identify opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and provide data needed to make data-driven business decisions.
  • Leads the development and deployment of informatics and analytics implementation strategy for data analysis and data trending, and monitors data quality and validation of analytical results.
  • Collaborates with customers to identify business requirements and collaborates with informatics and analytics personnel to facilitate the development of specifications and implement solutions utilizing best practices to ensure operational improvement.
  • Ensures project and program activities are aligned with organizational objectives and outcomes equate to organizational success.
  • Develops written proposals, documents and presentations related to intelligence program strategy. Informs leadership of key activities and prepares and presents periodic program reports summarizing project status, risks, and required actions. Assists in development and execution of strategic direction and setting priorities. Prepares the required documents in accordance with UMMC programming standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in committees to identify, investigate, and characterize risks and communicates progress toward established milestones. Accomplishes goals and objectives within set deadlines.
  • Keeps abreast of current and new technologies, serves as a resource to informatics and analytics personnel, and proactively researches and develops current technology to pilot and implement to enhance practices throughout the UMMC enterprise.
  • Provides positive customer relations across the range of information system activities including support services, UMMC business units, and vendors. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with UMMC and information technology policies and procedures.
  • Monitors data quality, integrity, privacy, and compliance with regulations and assists in the development of internal and institutional policies and operating procedures.
