Field Service Engineer

Cyngn, Inc. Mountain View, California, United States

About this position

Based in Mountain View, CA, Cyngn is a publiclyโ€‘traded autonomous technology company. We deploy selfโ€‘driving industrial vehicles โ€“ specifically autonomous tuggers โ€“ to factories, warehouses, and other facilities throughout North America. To build this emergent technology, we are looking for innovative, motivated, and experienced leaders to join us and move this field forward. If you like to build, tinker, and create with a team of trusted and passionate colleagues, then Cyngn is the place for you.

Key reasons to join Cyngn:

We are small and big. With under 100 employees, Cyngn operates with the energy of a startup. On the other hand, weโ€™re publicly traded. We build today and deploy tomorrow. Our autonomous vehicles arenโ€™t just test concepts โ€“ theyโ€™re deployed to real clients right now. That means your work will have a tangible, visible impact.

We arenโ€™t robots. We just develop them. Weโ€™re a welcoming, diverse team of sharp thinkers and kind humans. Collaboration and trust drive our creative environment. At Cyngn, everyoneโ€™s perspective matters โ€“ and that powers our innovation.

What youโ€™ll do

  • Travel to customer locations to perform installation, repair, upgrades, and calibration of production robotic systems.
  • Conduct fieldโ€‘based diagnostics, perform rootโ€‘cause analysis, and execute corrective actions to maintain uptime.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Services and Engineering teams to deploy software updates, log issues, and provide feedback from the field.
  • Replace and configure hardware components, sensors, and subsystems as needed.
  • Execute configuration and parameter changes, including network and system settings on deployed robots.
  • Interface directly with customer teams to provide status updates, answer technical questions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain logs of service activity, diagnostics data, and configuration changes in a structured and reliable format.
  • Support initial site bringโ€‘up and commissioning efforts for new deployments.
  • Assist with documentation development and service procedure refinement.
  • Support weekend and afterโ€‘hours troubleshooting on an onโ€‘call rotation basis.
