Job description

Job Title: Designer / RCDD (Low-Voltage Systems)
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 per year + Benefits


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Designer / RCDD to support large-scale low-voltage system projects in the St. Louis area. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong estimating expertise and a solid background in structured cabling, fiber optics, access control, and video surveillance systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and develop effective system solutions

  • Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to perform accurate take-offs

  • Develop detailed bills of materials (BOM) and obtain competitive vendor pricing

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labor and materials

  • Collaborate with subcontractors to secure competitive bids when required

  • Create detailed proposals including scope of work and pricing breakdowns

  • Manage awarded projects and coordinate closely with project foremen and field teams

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of as-built drawings and project submittals

  • Maintain compliance with applicable building codes, electrical standards, and industry best practices


Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience estimating large low-voltage systems

  • RCDD certification (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or equivalent experience required

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Structured cabling systems

    • Fiber optic infrastructure

    • Access control and CCTV systems

    • Building and electrical codes and communication standards

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in:

    • AutoCAD

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    • Microsoft Visio
