Technical Data Steward
Role Overview:
This role will be responsible for translating business needs into technical requirements, managing logical data
models, and working closely with ingestion and curation teams. This role requires a deep understanding of:
• Logical data modeling
• Complex metadata management
• Developing, managing, and aligning technical data requirements
• Data curation
• Data governance
About the role:
• Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and priorities and to proactively understand
and update metric logic and definition
• Develop technical requirements (e.g., aggregation level, granularity) based on metrics established by
business teams
• Design logical data model and orchestration requirements
• Own and manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team in tandem with ingestion and
curation leads
• Oversee data catalog entries and enforce data cataloging rules
• Manage access controls for end data products
• Manage change requests to the structure, definitions and/or security of identified data objects
• Communicate with the Business Data System Owner and Business Data Steward on metric updates
• Act as escalation point for Data Quality Analysts when defined processes are insufficient to resolve
issues
About you:
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or MBA
• Bring 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data analysis
• Have hands-on experience with and understanding of the following:
o SQL
o Python or other programming language
o Databricks or other cloud data management platform
o Technical and business data cataloging
o Logical data modeling, including experience designing logical data models
o ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow
o Data dictionary development
• Bring proven experience in data management, requirements management, and metadata
management
