Responsible for a variety of functions within the distribution center, such as receiving, stocking, loading and unloading merchandise, picking and operating heavy-duty equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts. Do not report employees who perform one of these duties as their primary function. Typical titles include: Materials Handler, Distribution Center Generalist.

Warehouse Associate

The Warehouse Associate in Leduc, Alberta, is responsible for processing customer orders in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining inventory integrity. This safety-sensitive role supports daily warehouse operations including material handling, order processing, and equipment operation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move material and load/unload trucks.

  • Order Processing: Pick, package, and prepare material according to customer specifications and work orders.

  • Equipment Operation: Operate saw equipment (band saw, cold saw, etc.) to cut material accurately and efficiently.

  • Inventory Management:Receive stock, verify material, and put away in appropriate warehouse locations.

  • System Transactions:Receive stock, verify material, and put away in appropriate warehouse locations.

  • Safety Focus:Follow all safety procedures, perform daily equipment inspections, and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:A high school diploma is the minimum requirement. Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.

  • Experience:A minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution experience, within a metals, manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

  • Technical Skills:Experience in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes. Experience operating saw equipment (band saw, cold saw, etc.) is considered an asset. Basic computer proficiency (MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using ERP systems for order processing and inventory transactions. Proficiency using measuring devices and reading work orders preferred.

  • Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail and safety awareness; ability to follow instructions and work independently; effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Compensation Information - $22.50 to $28.90 per hour, based on experience
