Description

Wood Rodgers is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will support our geotechnical projects and work under the guidance of our Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
This is a staffed, hourly, non-exempt position.
What you will be doing
  • Prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical projects.
  • Develop and execute services and analyses indicated in the project scope.
  • Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards.
  • Prepare engineering reports providing professional opinions and reasonable geotechnical solutions including:
    • Formulating design recommendations for civil, commercial, and residential structures.
    • Providing recommendations for roadway rehabilitation and new structural pavement sections.
  • Review of development plans for compliance with the project's geotechnical report requirements.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) during construction.
  • Other duties as assigned, potentially including forensic investigations, development and design of innovative solutions to unique problems and writing technical reports from scratch (i.e. not relying upon a master report or template).

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Civil Engineering.
  • Immediate potential for or registration as a Professional Engineer in Nevada and California.
  • Four or more years of experience in performing work as a geotechnical engineer.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Familiarity with software for assessing slope stability, liquefaction, pavement design, and deep foundations.
