Care Career is seeking a travel Certified Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

Position: Surgical Technologist โ€“ L&D/Birthing Center

Location: Wausau, WI

Contract: 13 weeks / 91 days

Start date: September 21, 2026

Guaranteed: 36 hours/week

Primary shift: 7:00 AMโ€“7:00 PM

Alternate shift: 3:00 PMโ€“3:00 AM

Float: None

Call: Rarely required

Weekend: Every 3rd weekend

Scrubs: Hospital-provided teal

What you'll actually do

This is a very OB/C-section-focused position.

  • Only C-section cases, both planned and emergent
  • Approximately 3โ€“4 C-sections per day
  • Assist with transporting patients from room to OR
  • Scrub for C-section procedures
  • Provide tech support for vaginal deliveries
  • Assist with circumcision procedures, including setup and cleanup
  • Perform CNA-type duties between cases:
    • Vital signs
    • Ambulation
    • Stocking
    • Baby baths
  • Jada system used for hemorrhage management
  • One OR dedicated to L&D
Required qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program
  • BLS
  • CST certification/license
    • NBSTSA accepted
    • NCCT accepted
  • AHA or ARC certification required by Aspirus
  • At least 1 year of OB experience
  • 2 years' experience required for a first-time traveler
  • Epic experience required

The biggest qualification is OB/C-section experience. This isn't a general OR surgical-tech assignment.
