Job description

As a UX Research & Experience Design CoOp within Delta's Flight Training Automation organization, you will support the design and continuous improvement of crew training products. Over the course of three alternating rotations, you will develop increasingly independent ownership across UX research, workflow visualization, and experience design.

Key Responsibilities

User Experience Research

  • Assist with user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing across pilot and instructor training journeys.
  • Help develop and analyze surveys, task observations, and benchmark studies to identify trainingspecific usability needs.
  • Support research documentation, including research plans, discussion guides, findings summaries, and opportunity statements.

Interaction, UI, and Experience Design

  • Create wireframes, user flows, mockups, and low to midfidelity prototypes in Figma to training use cases.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, training SMEs, and operations partners to iterate designs based on feedback.

Process & Experience Documentation

  • Document endtoend workflows for instructorled, simulatorbased, and digital training experiences.
  • Maintain organized documentation that supports transparency and alignment across IT, Training Operations, and business stakeholders.

Design Thinking & Collaboration (Optional Enhancement)

  • Support discovery workshops, empathy mapping sessions, and problemframing activities using Delta's designthinking methodologies.
  • Translate workshop outcomes into actionable artifacts such as opportunity backlogs, journey maps, and solution concepts.
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams to understand training environments, instructor workflows, and operational constraints.
