THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. THIS POSITION IS BASED IN THE HOME OFFICE LOCATED IN MACON GA
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Aid in analyzing business problems in cooperation with the production and support departments to determine if training is required
  • Assist with designing custom courses to meet the technology needs of our internal clients using a variety of delivery methods. (Instructor Led, ELearning, Documentation, Presentations, Webinars, etc)
  • Assist with planning and implementation of custom and off the shelf software as it relates to user education
  • Conduct training classes for Home Office personnel, personnel located in the County Offices (agents, CSRs, County Secretaries) as well as our remote users (Field U/W, DSMs, etc)
  • Write user documentation and job aids in order to provide self-directed application assistance.
  • Assist with the administration to the company LMS. Upload/update courseware, tier 2 LMS support for the Support Desk, perform miscellaneous functions such as course assignments and gradebook management.
  • Maintain a high-level of technical expertise of software applications used by our user community.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS
  • The Training Specialist II must be able to independently learn application software quickly in order to develop a training objectives and goals for adult learners with varied skill levels.
  • Remain current on technology and procedures.
  • Continued growth in insurance industry knowledge.
  • Ability to backup Support Desk personnel on specific applications when needed.
  • Some day and overnight travel will be required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and maintain a driving record that complies with the Underwriting guides for the Mutual Insurance Company.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the Training Specialist I.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree and 4 years experience providing training to users in an information technology environment or 7 years equivalent experience training users in an information technology environment; extensive knowledge of the latest versions of Windows OS and Microsoft Office products; experience writing technical documentation. Experience conducting classroom training required. Excellent technical and business writing day skills required. Occasional and overnight travel required. Experience providing support for an LMS and experience using Content Authoring software desired. Actively pursuing or commitment to begin Training Certification.

This position requires the incumbent to set up remote classrooms. Loading computer equipment in/out of vehicles and moving equipment using a two-wheeled dolly is required. Arranging tables, chairs, projectors/screens are also required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; sit; use hands to finger, handle controls; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is also required to walk and stoop. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
