Position Summary
Pomeroy is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to lead the technical strategy and solution development for complex managed services opportunities across enterprise clients.
This role partners closely with Sales, Service Delivery, Operations, Finance, Portfolio Management, and strategic partners to design innovative solutions that are technically sound, financially viable, and aligned with each client's business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a broad IT services generalist with deep experience across managed services environments. While expertise in every technology domain is not expected, candidates should possess a strong understanding of enterprise IT operations and the ability to bring together multiple service towers into cohesive client solutions.
Experience with enterprise data center operations, infrastructure transformation, or hybrid infrastructure environments is highly desirable.
This position reports to the Vice President of Solutions.
What You'll Do
Solution Strategy & Architecture
  • Lead solution development for enterprise managed services opportunities.
  • Translate client business objectives into scalable, cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Assess customer environments and identify opportunities to improve operations, service quality, and business outcomes.
  • Develop solution architectures that balance technical excellence, operational delivery, and commercial competitiveness.

Sales Partnership
  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Participate in discovery sessions with executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Develop solution strategies that support opportunity win themes.
  • Present solution recommendations to both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Support contract negotiations by developing Statements of Work (SOWs), assumptions, and service descriptions.

Solution Development
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery, Operations, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Portfolio teams.
  • Coordinate with strategic subcontractors and technology partners to obtain pricing and delivery models.
  • Lead solution costing, pricing, and financial modeling.
  • Ensure proposed solutions can be successfully transitioned into operational delivery.

Proposal & Client Engagement
  • Develop technical proposal content for complex pursuits.
  • Create compelling presentation materials for executive and technical audiences.
  • Lead client workshops, architecture reviews, and solution presentations.
  • Support RFP and RFQ responses for strategic opportunities.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT services, managed services, solution architecture, consulting, or technical pre-sales.
  • Experience designing complex managed service solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT operational models and service delivery.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise sales pursuits.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience developing Statements of Work (SOWs), solution documentation, and technical proposals.
  • Strong financial acumen, including solution costing and pricing.

Preferred
  • Experience with enterprise data center operations or infrastructure transformation.
  • Experience working within a national managed services provider.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
  • Cloud platform knowledge (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with automation, observability, AI-driven operations, and modern IT operations platforms.
