emergiTEL is hiring an IT Auditor Team Lead for our client in the financial services industry. This is a Permanent role.
Compensation: $112,000 - $140,000 per year
Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Job Description (English)
About the Role

  • Lead and oversee IT audit functions for the Montreal office of a global investment bank.
  • Manage and execute audits across IT, cybersecurity, and data functions.
  • Report findings to senior leadership and collaborate with global teams.

IT Audit & Risk Management

  • Lead and execute IT audit engagements in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Assess and validate risk controls across IT systems, cybersecurity, and data governance.
  • Monitor and challenge internal controls to meet financial and operational risk mandates.
  • Identify control weaknesses and escalate critical findings to senior management.
  • Document and communicate audit findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Supervise a team of three IT auditors (one senior, two intermediate).
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance management to enhance audit effectiveness.
  • Plan, allocate, and manage audit projects to optimize resources and delivery.
  • Support professional development and conduct performance evaluations.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Maintain strong communication with senior management, risk committees, and global stakeholders.
  • Draft and present audit reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of audit methodologies and best practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 6-8 years of total audit experience with strong general and IT audit expertise.
  • CISA certification (required).
  • Financial services experience (banking, insurance, asset management).
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring junior auditors.
  • Deep knowledge of IT risk, compliance, and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.

Audit TI et gestion des risques

  • Diriger et executer des missions d'audit TI conformement aux politiques internes, aux exigences reglementaires et aux meilleures pratiques de l'industrie.
  • Evaluer et valider les controles de risque lies aux systemes TI, a la cybersecurite et a la gouvernance des donnees.
  • Surveiller et remettre en question les controles internes afin de respecter les obligations en matiere de risques financiers et operationnels.
  • Identifier les faiblesses de controle et signaler les constatations critiques a la haute direction.
  • Documenter et communiquer les constatations et recommandations d'audit aux parties prenantes cles.

Leadership d'equipe et gestion du personnel

  • Superviser une equipe de trois auditeurs TI (un principal et deux intermediaires).
  • Offrir mentorat, encadrement et gestion de la performance pour ameliorer l'efficacite des audits.
  • Planifier, repartir et gerer les projets d'audit afin d'optimiser les ressources.
  • Soutenir le developpement professionnel et realiser les evaluations de performance.

Collaboration et rapports

  • Maintenir une communication etroite avec la haute direction, les comites de risque et les parties prenantes mondiales.
  • Rediger et presenter des rapports d'audit resumant les constatations, recommandations et evaluations des risques.
  • Contribuer au developpement des methodologies et des meilleures pratiques d'audit.

Profil du candidat ideal

  • 6 a 8 ans d'experience totale en audit, avec une solide expertise en audit general et en audit TI.
  • Certification CISA (obligatoire).
  • Experience dans le secteur des services financiers (banque, assurance, gestion d'actifs).
  • Experience averee en gestion ou mentorat d'auditeurs juniors.
  • Connaissance approfondie des risques TI, de la conformite et de la cybersecurite.
  • Excellentes competences en communication et capacite a evoluer dans un environnement mondial dynamique.
