The Process Engineering (Tech Ops) Manager leads a diverse team of approximately 20 employees including process engineers and specification writers. The Tech Ops Manager will develop solutions for product assembly, resolve product design/test challenges, and support our new product introduction and transition to production (TTP) processes. We are looking for candidates with excellent leadership skills, a strong foundation in Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing, and who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
This is a full time onsite first shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off!
Job duties:
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, feedback, and guidance to the New Product Introduction Process Engineers, and Specification Writers - approximately 20 people
  • Manage technical personnel through hiring, staff development, and personnel assignments to meet the needs of the business. Be an active leadership team member.
  • Manage the generation and execution of Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) for new products including equipment programs, fixtures, process documentation, routings, etc.
  • Develop and mature policies, procedures, and processes required for a Pilot Line environment.
  • Drive product / process improvements, production problem resolutions, continuous improvement and integrating solutions into a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Closely collaborate with the Product, Producibility, and Launch Capability Group Engineering team to ensure factory feedback is being incorporated on new designs.
  • Provide support through proposal NRE Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and execution of NRE. Proof read and generate BOEs as a back up to the Product Stream Manager.
  • Ensure timely and successful transition to production for new hardware designs to the Production factory teams.
  • Responsible for the quality, schedule, and cost of NRE from Tech Ops team.

Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor Degree with 8+ years work experience OR Master Degree with 6+ years work experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior people manager experience
  • Experience with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing standards, processes and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD) class zero and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention techniques.
  • The willingness and ability to recognize and develop employees' potential.

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Design or early lifecycle development experience.
  • New product introduction experience.
  • Experience implementing complex change and adapting to dynamic environments.
  • Familiar with (Aerospace Series) AS9145 and (Institute of Printed Circuits) IPC-610.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Proven success with change management in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team leader, program/project manager, or direct management role.
  • Experience as a manager for a technical department.
