Summary of Position
  • Drive Software Development Life Cycle activities and align EmblemHealth business and technical resources.
  • Responsible for managing systems and all technical functions related including design, develop
  • Champion continuous quality improvement activities to increase the maturity of the IT team.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Responsible for leading the planning, execution, continuous improvement, and maintenance of managed systems in coordination and cooperation with other enterprise teams as appropriate.
  • Drive th planning sessions to ensure proper coordination and that capacity considerations are managed appropriately
  • Ensure results are complete, accurate, and within time/quality/budget constraints to meet commitments.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve and lead the efforts to deliver on those opportunities.
  • Ensure issues that are escalated to the team are responded to and closed out in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Consistently review and monitor results and their adherence to SLAs.
  • Perform research and identify opportunities to develop standardized business processes and technical methodologies for interfacing with the team and system.
  • Oversee research, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of technology for managed system capabilities and upgrades; interface with business clients to ensure concerns are managed.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop/propose ideas related to systematic improvements.
  • Develop and review system design and technical implementations.
  • Review error summaries with internal teams and recommend opportunities to improve implementations.
  • Review any communications/technical notes from associated vendors and ensure all relevant technical teams are involved in any upgrades.
  • Develop and execute on a technology and process roadmap for owned systems.
  • May develop, mentor, train, and guide other staff members.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex issue resolution.
  • Continuously seek to improve efficiency and quality across owned systems.
  • Champion and monitor adherence to industry leading technology management practices within the team.

Qualifications
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required

Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 - 8+ years of relevant systems and technology experience required
  • 5+ years of full stack development and/or architecture experience required
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience working with internal and vendor teams required
  • Ability to lead and work within cross-functional teams and matrix organizations required
  • Strong communications skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences required
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) required
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple business priorities and expectations with relatively fixed resource capacity required
  • Ability to collaborate with and support colleagues to solve problems required
  • Broad understanding of the healthcare industry and EmblemHealth's position in the industry preferred
  • Understanding of healthcare business and IT strategies preferred
