Job description

TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel Surgical Technician for a travel job in Ellsworth, Maine.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Shift: 10 hours, days

UNIT:  OR TECH
MGR INTERVIEW

Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years preferred, but will take 3 years.  Will not accept first time traveler

Required Licensure and Certifications:  BLS, CST

Case Types:  Adults and peds, but minimal peds, General surgeries (open and laparoscopic) – bowel, gallbladder, appendix, hernias, portacath, fistulas
Urology – laser lithotripsy, nephroureteral stent insertion/removal, vasectomies, TURPs,  ENT – T&As, endoscopic sinus, facial lesions, thyroids, nick dissection
OBGYN – C-sections, tubal ligations, D&Cs, D&Es, hysteroscopies, hysterectomies, uterine ablations, Ortho – Total joints (knees and hips, only a few shoulders), fractures, wrists, ankles, ACL repairs, fingers, carpal tunnel, rods (bipolar and nailings); podiatry (can be trained)
Endoscopies – EGDs and colonoscopies (experience not required)
Do not need robotics experience.  No conscious sedation cases.  All staff will help turn over rooms

Skills required:  Ok if no experience with total joints, podiatry, or endoscopy cases, but need to be willing to be trained.  Ok if no OB/C-section experience, but need to be comfortable with at least open abdominal cases and be willing to be trained in c-sections.  Experience with all other case types listed above

Floating:  May float to inpatient areas as a task person/helping hands – will not assume a patient assignment
