Join the Operating Room team at Columbus Community Hospital and play an essential role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care. We are seeking skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Certified Surgical Scrub Technicians to support a variety of surgical specialties while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient care.
Available Positions & Schedule
Full-Time Positions 1 & 2
  • 36 hours/week
  • 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Weekday schedule
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities required
Full-Time Position 3
  • 40 hours/week
  • 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekday schedule
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities required
Part-Time Position
  • 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekday schedule
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities required
PRN Position
  • Variable days and hours based on department needs

Position Summary
The Certified Surgical Scrub Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining a sterile surgical environment, assisting surgeons during operative procedures, and supporting the overall efficiency of the Operating Room. This position requires advanced knowledge of sterile technique, strong critical-thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
  • Serve as the primary scrub technician for surgical cases across all service lines
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
  • Ensure proper handling, counting, and care of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Assist with nursing duties as delegated and within scope of practice
  • Pull and prepare surgical cases and equipment
  • Assist with inventory management and supply organization
  • Participate in departmental committees and quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and support staff
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention and safety standards
Qualifications
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Scrub Technician program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong critical-thinking, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Commitment to teamwork and exceptional patient care
Preferred
  • Current Surgical Technologist certification
