Who We Are

Since 1998, Tech-Wood Building Components Ltd. has been a trusted provider of Engineered Wood Products, Roof Trusses, Wall Panels, and Building Materials to Calgary and surrounding areas.

We proudly operate out of two manufacturing facilities ten minutes apart - one off Peigan Trail and the other right off Glenmore Trail, serving our customers with integrity, teamwork, and a drive for excellence.

At Tech-Wood, we believe success comes from working together. We're a collaborative and forward-thinking team that values hard work, innovation, and having a bit of fun along the way. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we're looking for someone who shares that same passion for excellence and teamwork.

Your Role: IT Support Specialist

As Tech-Wood's IT Support Specialist, you'll be the first call when technology needs a helping hand. You'll support employees across both Tech-Wood locations by troubleshooting issues, managing equipment, and ensuring our technology is reliable, secure, and ready to support our growing business.

This role is about more than fixing computers, it's about creating a great employee experience through technology. You'll help improve systems, support new initiatives, and work closely with every department to keep Tech-Wood connected and moving forward.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide day-to-day IT support to employees across both Tech-Wood locations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, Microsoft 365, network, printing, phone, and mobile device issues.
  • Set up, deploy, maintain, and replace computers, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  • Support employee onboarding, role changes, offboarding, and user account management.
  • Support end-user access and connectivity for our PG team while working alongside the IT Lead on broader technology initiatives.
  • Assist with network administration, cybersecurity initiatives, system maintenance, and backup testing.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset inventories, and support procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, user experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Support technology projects and system implementations alongside the IT Lead.
  • Participate in a compensated after-hours and on-call rotation once fully trained.

What You Bring:

  • 2-4 years of IT support experience in a business, manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Experience supporting Windows devices, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in a simple, approachable way.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve.
  • Experience with networking, cybersecurity, Microsoft environments, or Cisco Meraki is considered an asset.
  • Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are considered an asset.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to travel between our Tech-Wood locations.
  • Ability to participate in a compensated after-hours and on-call rotation.
  • Successful police background check.
  • Comfortable working in both office and production environments, including exposure to noise, dust, lifting IT equipment, and wearing PPE when required.

What We Bring:

  • Competitive compensation and bonus opportunities
  • Group benefits
  • HSA Allowance
  • Paid vacation time
  • Free on-site parking
  • Company team-building events
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • A fast-paced, collaborative environment where people support each other and take pride in their work
  • A team that is invested in YOU - professionally and personally

Please note: Tech-Wood's locations are not accessible by public transit. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
